1986 VESPA DOUGLAS 125 ENGINE
with DANCING TIL DAWN theme - £2,500

Freshly built-up and never seen on the road before, this 1986 Vespa Douglas with 125 engine, has been restored to celebrate this the fortieth anniversary of Northern Soul music.  This superb scooter has been beautifully restored using the theme : 'Dancing Til Dawn - Wigan Casino', the paintwork being burgundy with gold fleck.

The chrome tool box door is fitted with two stereo speakers, engraved using The Kent Collection theme and having record labels floated in under the lacquer. The rear light, stand, centre floor plate, handlebar ends, fan cover and gear plate cover are all highly engraved, while the speedo has gold backing with an owl set in.  The scooter comes with a crash helmet, which has also been themed.

The non-kick start side panel has been ghosted with Jackie Wilson writing and the kick start side panel bears a styised dancer.  There is a frenched-in radio consul for the stereo and a chrome headset top.  The centre tread plate features several faces of soul singers and the soul seranade.  There are also spare themed headset tops - both themed, one being for the disc brake and one for the drop handlebar set.  The seat is leather and has been hand stitched, again celebrating the Dancing Til Dawn scene.

This scooter really needs to be seen to be appreciated, but the photos on the following page do give some indication as to the standard of this restoration.  There are over 800 hours labour in the paintwork alone.

MOT'd, taxed and ready for the road.
